Habitat Chartered Architects & Engineers was assigned by the Ministry of Sports, Government of Sri Lanka (GOSL) to designs and procure to select contractors for the development and refurbishment of the existing Mahinda Rajapksha International Stadium at Diyagama as an International Sports Academy with all sport venues and ancillary Facilities required to function as an International Sport Academy, to train and improve our own school and national level talents to realize the broad objective of achieving Olympic competitive status and Asian championship winning standard.

To establish an international Sport academy at Diyagama to train, foster and recommend the best sport men and women from schools, sports institutes and universities in Sri Lanka as national level talents to realize the broad objective of achieving Olympic competitive status and Asian championship winning standard.

MISSION OF THE INTERNATIONAL SPORTS ACADEMY 

“Steer Sports of Sri Lanka Towards The Olympics”

In the process of achieving it, this academy will be able to produce competitors for South Asian games, Asian championship and any other intermediate international sports events. These achievements will bench mark the Diyagama international sport academy to groom Olympic players.

In parallel to the sports facilities a high school having classes from grade 7 – 13 in all medium of instructions (expected student population of 900) with all residential facilities for students and staff will be established under the ministry of education partnership.

The facilities that will be available in near future at the “Proposed Nuwara Eliya High Altitude Sport Training Centre” will be an additional supportive training infrastructure to this academy that can be in partnership to achieve the national objectives of producing sport men and women who would bring Olympic medals to Sri Lanka.
