Overview

This project was in line with the government target of providing safe drinking water to all citizens. The regional office was a long felt need for administration of the functions of the water supply and drainage board for the northern region and the project was mooted with the world bank funding for Regional Office Building, Jaffna.

Main design objectives were to continue services to meet the growing demand in the regional water supply and drainage offering efficient and competitive service to the consumers with alternative energy used methods according to LEED (Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design).

The Abstract form of the design was modified strategically to create practical two dimensional plan forms and three dimensional forming accordance with land and immediate context of regional dancing forms. Final design was developed with the initial concept to represent the cultural and social integrity of people of Jaffna.
